Utilities for controlling how flex and grid items are positioned along a container's main axis.
<div class="flex justify-start ...">
<div>1</div>
<div>2</div>
<div>3</div>
</div>
<div class="flex justify-center ...">
<div>1</div>
<div>2</div>
<div>3</div>
</div>
<div class="flex justify-end ...">
<div>1</div>
<div>2</div>
<div>3</div>
</div>
Use justify-between
to justify items along the container’s main axis such that there is an equal amount of space between each item:
<div class="flex justify-between ...">
<div>1</div>
<div>2</div>
<div>3</div>
</div>
Use justify-around
to justify items along the container’s main axis such that there is an equal amount of space on each side of each item:
<div class="flex justify-around ...">
<div>1</div>
<div>2</div>
<div>3</div>
</div>
Use justify-evenly
to justify items along the container’s main axis such that there is an equal amount of space around each item, but also accounting for the doubling of space you would normally see between each item when using justify-around
:
<div class="flex justify-evenly ...">
<div>1</div>
<div>2</div>
<div>3</div>
</div>
To justify flex items at a specific breakpoint, add a {screen}:
prefix to any existing utility class. For example, use md:justify-between
to apply the justify-between
utility at only medium screen sizes and above.
<div class="justify-start md:justify-between ...">
<!-- ... -->
</div>
For more information about Tailwind’s responsive design features, check out the Responsive Design documentation.
By default, only responsive variants are generated for justify-content utilities.
You can control which variants are generated for the justify-content utilities by modifying the justifyContent
property in the variants
section of your tailwind.config.js
file.
For example, this config will also generate hover and focus variants:
// tailwind.config.js
module.exports = {
variants: {
extend: {
// ...
+ justifyContent: ['hover', 'focus'],
}
}
}
If you don't plan to use the justify-content utilities in your project, you can disable them entirely by setting the justifyContent
property to false
in the corePlugins
section of your config file:
// tailwind.config.js
module.exports = {
corePlugins: {
// ...
+ justifyContent: false,
}
}
